OKATA has been involved in the development and initiation of citizen and renewable energy communities in Lithuania, Moldova and Ukraine.
Energy communities create a new model for the energy sector where citizens, municipalities, businesses and local organisations can jointly produce, store and use renewable electricity.
These projects can become the foundation for local microgrids and more resilient energy systems. Energy communities are not only energy projects. They are also social, economic and regional development projects.
